Press Release Body: http://www.rosehilllodges.com holiday lodges prove that luxury
doesn't have to cost the earth. Built entirely
From timber and using sustainable contruction and insulation methods, the elegant
wooden lodges combine high-spec, luxury accommodation with energy-efficiency.
They are the first of their kind in Cornwall and are open all year round.

Built by Pioneer, a Porthtowan based Environmental Building Company the lodges
incorporate locally sourced larch, Douglas fir and cedar, insulated with recycled
newspaper, and featuring bamboo flooring, low-energy lighting and turf roofs, each
lodge also has its own solar panel to help with heating water.
The fully-equipped five star interior boasts king-size beds throughout, widescreen
TV and a modern log burner, while outside on the generous, glass-covered deck there
is a Jacuzzi, a heated drench shower and lock up beach storage.

The Rosehill team are committed to environmental practices but respect visitors'
freedom to make their own choices. Recycling by guests is welcomed and information
is provided to encourage the support of local facilities and public transport, but
without obligation. Mindful, too, that the term 'eco' can be used to 'greenwash' the
public, the team would like to make it clear that some features of the lodges are
not sustainable. As co-owner John Barrow says:
"We know we aren't perfect, but we are working hard at improving our environmental
credentials while aiming to combine luxury with sustainability. Our customers demand
the highest quality accommodation. What we have done is to combine this with a
responsible approach to Eco principles in the building of the lodges and in the way
our business is run.

The lodges are beautifully sited in a woodland valley just a five-minute walk from
Porthtowan's sandy, blue flag beach on the spectacular North Cornish coast.
Porthtowan itself is within "area of outstanding natural beauty" and the South West
coast path is just a short walk from the lodges. The area is also well served by
local pubs, shops and restaurants.

Ex- rock star Graham Jones, formerly of Haircut One Hundred, and his partner Rebecca
have recently joined Rosehill as co-managers. The couple, who live locally, enjoy
being able to walk to work as well as being close to their young family.
